 getting it right will save you time and money
All files must be provided in digital format, ready to print. Files submitted incorrectly may incur additional production charges. If your file should require additional attention, production is billed at regular hourly rates with a minimum of $20 for type changes, resizing, color changes, file editing, etc. Additional charges may apply. Estimated charges can be provided upon request.
Please provide a hard copy or FPO PDF of your file. If color accuracy is important, PMS swatches/numbers or other color samples should be provided whenever possible.
Mechanical Requirements:
- Quark, InDesign or press ready PDFs are preferred. We do not accept Publisher or Pagemaker files.
- If using nontraditional software, it will have to be submitted as a print ready PDF. (Example: Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Please remember to “collect for output” or “package” prior to submitting your files.
- Convert all hi-res 4-color photos from RGB to CMYK.
- When printing with Black ink only, images must be designated as grayscale or B&W bitmap.
- Image resolution should be 200-350 dpi. Files containing small text should be submitted at 600 dpi.
- Files should include 1/8” bleed all around (1/16” minimum). When submitting a file that bleeds in PDF format, the final file submitted will need to be 1/4” larger than the final trim size. (Example: an 8.5” x 11” final trim should be provided to us as a 8.75” x 11.25” file.)
- Fonts:
- PDF files must have all fonts embedded.
- Multiple master fonts are not accepted (Adobe Sans MM, Minion MM, Myriad MM)
- Variable Data fonts must be:
- Standard fonts
- Full point sizes, no decimal points in the size (example: 11.5 pt or +4 leading).
- No type scaling or kerning on variable data fields.
